The Linwood Shoener family has established a memorial fund to benefit Healthy Living, Inc. We honor Linwood and his wife Catherine's generosity to others throughout their lives.

The fund will support Healthy Living's launch of a Community Cooking Center in Ward 7, declared a "food desert" due to the lack of available fresh food and healthy food sources. The Cooking Center will offer cooking classes and instruction on topics such as healthy eating and food preparation, community dinners and lectures, a subsidized food cooperative and farmers market, and a job training and employment social enterprise. Linwood and Catherine's grandson Jefferson has served on our board of directors since 2004. Healthy Living plans to include a prominent "Wall of Giving" in the Cooking Center, and hang plaques to honor Linwood & Catherine, as well as other significant donors.
