Group Classes – demonstration style

Check out this condensed video of one of Juliette's classes!
Note: to view the video, you will need to download the 7.6 version of Apple Quick Time, if you don't already have it.

These demonstration style classes take place throughout the year in Washington, DC. They are open to the public and designed to accommodate up to ten students.

In the Wednesday night series, Dinner and Class, students share a meal first, then learn to prepare it. At this introductory level, the emphasis is on learning how to plan and prepare delicious, healthy, simple meals for everyday life using whole foods. The menu is vegan (no animal products). Dinner and Class lasts one-and-a-half hour!

In the Class and Brunch series, students take the class first, then share the meal together. At this intermediate level, students learn to create menus that include appetizers and/or desserts or make dishes for special occasions. Some fish will be used, but no dairy. Class and Brunch is three-hour long.

In the Macrobiotic Cooking Series, offered once a month or as scheduled, students learn the in-depth principles of macrobiotic cooking. At this more advanced and specialized level, students learn about the energies of food and different styles of cooking for each season, as well as the healing properties of the specific ingredients unique to macrobiotic cooking. They also learn to make traditional macrobiotic recipes such as condiments, pickles, sea-vegetables and many others.

In each series, class is designed around a seasonal menu with market-fresh organic produce. Students learn creative ways to cook grains, vegetarian proteins, vegetables, sauces, snacks and desserts. Menus are sent ahead of time to subscribers of our email list.
