Meetup!
Join Healthy Living President Juliette Tahar's new
Meetup group!
The DC Area Macrobiotics group meets once a
month in the Georgetown/Glover Park/Burleith area of Washington DC. The meeting is open to anyone seeking a
healthier life - you do not have to be a strict macrobiotic to attend our meetings.
We meet to socialize, to eat good food prepared by Chef Juliette and to engage in participatory discussions to address your issues as budding or long-time macrobiotics, or students of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Guest speaker topics that range from how to make macrobiotics practical and delicious, to how to incorporate macrobiotics into our busy schedules, to how to survive the holidays and family reunions, and more. Discussions may highlight aspects of TCM as they relate or complement our macrobiotic studies. Since macrobiotics is much more than food, we also discuss the principles and philosophy behind it and their potentially profound impact on your life.
At our meetings, a macrobiotic vegan meal will be served. However, since macrobiotics is not a vegetarian diet per se, Chef
Juliette reserves the right to serve fish for those in the group who prefer it. The menu will be sent ahead of time.
Anyone with specific food requests should discuss alternatives to the menu by contacting Juliette at
healthylivinginc@earthlink.net.
We meet from 6:30 to 8:30pm the last Monday of every month at Frank Jelleff Branch, 3265 S Street, NW. Cost is $25 for
both the meal and discussion.
Reservations are required, go to
DC Area Macrobiotics and sign up!
