“From being in this program I have learned about many vegetables, fruits, ancient grains among many other healthy foods. We have made Barley porridge, beet salads, Ethiopian lentil dishes, and tons of other dishes that people love to enjoy every day there is school. Each day, we cook for about 50 kids and lots of families. We learn about cultural traditions and also important skills, such as Knife skills, and how to be safe while getting what you need done on time. I think the most important things I have learned over this past year, are the nutrients that fruits and vegetables help with your immune system, metabolism and heart as well as the importance to eat in season."
